The Meaning of Orishi
Orishi is inspired by the Yoruba word Òrìsà—the divine forces that shape nature, destiny, and human character. In Yoruba tradition, the Òrìsà are not distant gods, but living energies of iron, storm, wisdom, and creation—reminders that the sacred moves through the world and through us.
The name Orishi is our invocation of that truth. It honors ancestral lineage while reimagining its power for the future—a declaration that African identity is divine, creative, and limitless, and that storytelling itself is sacred work.
